Dear club members,

 

As a member of  the BC Rugby Union Westshore RFC is bound by their directives, including the COVID-19 vaccination requirement.  Westshore supports the vaccine requirement as we are in a pandemic that has ravaged communities around the country and around the world, and we think it’s a reasonable measure to help us safely continue to operate our rugby programs.

According to the best medical science available the vaccines are proven to be safe and reliable. Ensuring that all participants in a close contact sport like rugby are vaccinated helps to prevent the spread of the disease, and will help ensure that any

We are hopeful such measures will prove to be temporary in nature, and we also understand no personal health information will be stored or retained other than the fact of vaccination. body who does get sick will have reduced symptoms and improved outcomes.  We’re also supportive of reasonable measures that reduce the burden on the healthcare system.

While we support the mandate that mirrors those in several sectors of the economy and in several prominent sporting leagues, we know that some people will prefer not to participate and we respect their right to make a personal choice on the matter.
